We challenged our students to a poetry competition in aid of World Poetry Day and they were tasked to write a poem on the theme of ‘environment’.
The competition was judged by author and poet, Celia Warren who has over 100 books to her name, a regular contributor to the BBC and is published by many educational publishers, including Schofield & Sims, Pearson and Oxford University Press.
Congratulations to all our winners! Celia said she “really enjoyed reading the entries” and described 1st place winner, Alex Scrine’s poem as “strong and well-crafted”.
The winning entrants won copies of new poetry anthology, A Poem For Every Day of the Year.
1st Prize – Alex Scrine (Animal Care)
