The Association of Hairdressers & Therapists (AHT) Student Competition is a highly anticipated event in the world of hair and beauty, serving as a platform for young, aspiring stylists and beauticians to showcase their expertise across a host of categories. After their successes in the Regional Heats, hosted at Stamford College’s Borderville facility, students from Inspire Education Group’s (IEG) Stamford College and Peterborough College progressed to compete in the Final at the Norbreck Castle Hotel in Blackpool last month.
From Bridal, to ‘Old Hollywood’, to more general competitions such as ‘Barbering Cut & Finish’, students’ designs were scored by a panel of expert judges from the Association of Hairdressers and Therapists. Sofia Cereste of Stamford College, who was also nominated for Level 2 Hairdressing Student of the Year at the IEG Student Awards for her dedication and commitment towards to course, achieved an impressive 2nd place in the Bridal Hair category. Ella Miscandlon earned her well-deserved recognition for her meticulous attention to detail, placing 4th in the Bridal Make Up category. Peterborough College also showcased remarkable talent at the competition, particularly in the Barbering, Cut & Finish category, with Humza Ali securing 2nd place and David Ratley, 4th.
Their achievements, alongside those of countless others from FE Colleges across the nation, highlights the importance of such competitions in fostering talent and nurturing the next generation of professionals in the hair and beauty industry. Inspire Education Group gives thanks to the competition organisers, and wishes all competitors successful and fulfilling careers.
