After consistently working to the best of their ability throughout his two years at New College Stamford, A Level student Shane Nightingale was awarded the Blackwell’s Reading List Foundation Scholarship, which pays towards buying the books for the first year of university study.
Shane, who is now studying Law at the University of Derby, achieved A Level results that were several grades higher than statistics had predicted making him the first member of his extended family to go to university, of which they are all extremely proud.
During his time at the college they have also taken an active role in the Debating Society, being a Student Governor, Student Council Member, participating in the Love our Colleges March in London and met the local MP to raise questions about FE Colleges Funding.
To recognise Shanes determination to succeed and consistent hard work he was also awarded at the colleges Student Awards ceremony back in June.
