This week, IEG hosted a construction skills competition for Peterborough College and Stamford College students. Each institution competed head-to-head in brickwork, electrical, carpentry and joinery tasks, with three winners from each category receiving a prize.
Designed to support the development, preparation, progression and recognition of full-time learners, the local competition aimed to inspire and encourage student participation in national events, build on their self confidence and increase employability prospects on course completion.
Welcomed on the day were special guests, Andrew McPartlin and Mark Isaacs from Allison Homes, and Paxton Johnson from Johnson Electrical, who judged the entries and selected our winners, providing valuable industry insight into the skillset and standards expected within the construction industry.
Thank you to Allison Homes and Johnson Electrical for supporting the event, and well done to all those who took part on the day and to our winners.
