The Stamford branch of Howdens, the UK’s Number 1 Trade Kitchen Supplier, has generously donated 20 doors to the Carpentry students of Stamford College.
Ian Sargent, Lecturer in Carpentry and Joinery, explained, “Howdens of Stamford’s recent donation of doors will help the Level 2 and Level 3 Carpentry students to practise hanging doors to an industrial standard, in readiness for their practical end test. The same goes for the Carpentry Apprentices on day release at Stamford College, who undergo a practical skills assessment to complete their apprenticeship. We have set up a new area in the workshop so that learners can put the donation to good use”.
Sophie Gray, Assistant Manager at the Howdens Stamford Branch, said, “we wanted to give a little something to the community, which could be practical as well as helpful. The doors were discontinued and we’re glad they’ve been put to good use”.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Howdens Stamford, and we look forward to further developing our partnership in the future.
