Level 3 Bricklaying Apprentice at Stamford College, Jake Nash has secured himself a place at University of West London to study Chartered Building Surveying after successfully completing his Bricklaying Apprenticeship with local construction firm, Persimmon.

Jake joined the college at Level 2 in 2016 after finding his passion for bricklaying working with a family member during the summer months.

He said “The college helped prepare me for my apprenticeship and gave me an insight on what an apprenticeship is and where they can take you. That’s what gave me the push I needed to achieve the level 3 course as that meant I could progress to university and take the site managing or surveying route”

“My apprenticeship with the college and Persimmon has been a great experience. As well as completing a lot of bricklaying I’ve also worked on a range of projects from housing, garden walls and even chimneys”.
