We are delighted to announce that since revealing one of our Performing Arts students was cast in the BBC 1 Drama ‘Doctors’, his program has now aired and we are thrilled Ryan Chapman has successfully made his acting debut on such a prestigious platform!
Ryan is currently a 2nd year Performing Arts student who is pursuing a career in Acting. When he was in the 1st year of his studies at New College Stamford, Ryan was put forward for the BBC 1 drama ‘Doctors’ and auditioned for a part as a young man with Tourette’s Syndrome. Ryan was so good, and impressed the directors that much, that he was cast immediately for the role.
Ryan features in large sections of the program and does an amazing job at portraying the character. Ryan filmed his scenes whilst still studying at College, and not only achieved an outstanding performance on camera, but also achieved a Distinction for his Level 3 Diploma. Ryan is still excelling in his Extended Diploma and hopes to gain a place at a prestigious Drama School when he graduates from New College Stamford.
Everyone at New College Stamford is extremely proud of Ryan and what he has achieved. He is a testament to the teaching and level of work that is being produced at New College Stamford and in particular, the Performing Arts department. We will follow Ryan’s acting career closely over the coming year and we wish him the best of luck in achieving all of his ambitions. We have no doubt he will be a star and can come back in the future to pass on advice and guidance to the next group of aspiring performers!
