Allison Homes, the Bourne-based housebuilding company, has recruited an additional ten apprentices in partnership with the Inspire Education Group (IEG), offering fantastic opportunities in bricklaying and carpentry.
The new recruits, beginning this September, will spend one day a week studying with IEG at either Peterborough College or Stamford College, and four days on-site with Allison Homes developing their skills and knowledge of their chosen construction trade and gaining a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ).
A rigorous interview process was held, by Allison Homes and IEG, in which the following young people were offered apprenticeship opportunities:
Peterborough College:
Jenson Weldon – Carpentry
Poppy Ludgate – Carpentry
Taylor Knight – Carpentry
Jamie Double – Bricklaying
Aimee Avory – Carpentry
Stamford College:
Seb Constable – Bricklaying
Brandon Goring - Bricklaying
Charlie Freebe-Ray – Bricklaying
Leland Moore – Carpentry
Ellis Patrick - Bricklaying
Naomi Tickle, Apprenticeship Development Manager at Allison Homes, said: “Being on-site gives our apprentices invaluable experience as to what it’s like in the ‘real world’, something which can’t easily be taught from a classroom.”
Emma Hill, Head of Faculty for Technical and Modern Construction Skills at IEG, added: “This partnership has a strong emphasis on delivering skills required for the future workforce, supporting the curriculum design of programs at both colleges.”
We wish all of our new apprentices the best of luck in their next steps, and we look forward to welcoming you in September.
