The Association of Colleges (AoC) is setting up a national ‘A Level Subject Excellence Network’ and has approached colleges with outstanding A Level performance to contribute. Blair, who is also a Teaching and Learning Coach at New College Stamford has accepted an invitation to join the network on behalf the college.
Hundreds of students choose New College Stamford each year to study their A Levels and secure top places at university, with many offered places at Russel Group universities. Alongside having an impressive 100% pass rate, the College offers an ‘Aim Higher Programme’ so students can access all the value of a sixth form, whilst developing their independence and experiences to prepare them for university and beyond.
On their most recent OFSTED inspection it was noted that “Through effective teaching and assessment, staff encourage learners to develop good independent-study and critical-thinking skills that enable them to reflect upon and improve their own work. These skills prepare them well for study at a higher level”.
