T-Level in Health (Clinical) Supporting the Adult Nursing Team

Practical Vs Theory

Course overview

Health is a vital field that we all depend upon as the Covid pandemic has clearly demonstrated to us all. This T level is a 2 year course, equivalent to 3 A Levels but with a more vocational focus in Adult Nursing and designed to provide you with the skills, experience and knowledge required to progress into a career in Adult Nursing.

You’ll gain in-depth industry experience via a work placement in the healthcare sector so you have more focus on vocational skills development than A Levels. This will help you into skilled employment in Health, or progress to University or an Apprenticeship. In addition to classroom-based lessons, the course includes a minimum of 315 hours working with an employer on a relevant industry placement.

Entry Requirements

5 GCSEs at grades 5/C or above including English, Maths and Science. Or a Merit in a relevant Level 2 Diploma including grades 5/C or above in GCSE English, Maths and Science.

You will also need to have a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Certificate with no grounds that you are professionally unsuitable to undertake professional practice or placement. Application for a DBS is managed by the College and we will contact you with the forms and guidance you require to complete this before you are due to start your course.

Potential Future Career

Successful completion of this course accrues UCAS points and a number of major UK universities accept T Levels for courses in Adult Nursing and other specialist degree routes such as Child Nursing and Mental Health. Please see points achieved by grades below.

T Level Distinction* = 168 UCAS Tariff Points = A*A*A* at A Level
T Level Distinction = 144 UCAS Tariff Points = AAA at A Level
T Level Merit = 120 UCAS Tariff Points = BBB at A Level
T Level Pass (C or above) = 96 UCAS Tariff Points = CCC at A Level
T Level Pass (D or E) = 72 UCAS Tariff Points = DDD at A Level

Due to the high-level academic nature of the T‑Level and the considerable industry placement element totalling a minimum of 315 hours, the course is also designed to allow you to progress directly in to the healthcare industry. In addition, you may consider undertaking a degree Apprenticeship in nursing as an alternative route.
