Course overview

This course is suit­able for any­one want­i­ng a career in the media, broad­cast and pro­duc­tion sec­tor in careers such as an Cre­ative Media Technician.This course offers you an attrac­tive alter­na­tive to A Lev­els and appren­tice­ships. An indus­try-based work place­ment is required to run along­side your course, this must be a min­i­mum of 315 hours and will fur­ther rein­force your new­ly learned skills and offer a true insight into the media, broad­cast and pro­duc­tion industry.

 

Entry Require­ments

5 GCSE at grades 4/C and above includ­ing Eng­lish Lan­guage and Maths, with Eng­lish at grade 5/C. Or a rel­e­vant Lev­el 2 qual­i­fi­ca­tion at Mer­it Grade and Eng­lish and Maths at grade 4/C or above. 

You will also need a strong inter­est in a media based career.

Poten­tial Future Career

This 2- year qual­i­fi­ca­tion com­bines class­room learn­ing with a min­i­mum 9 week indus­try place­ment. Along­side the course each stu­dent will also com­plete at least one mod­ule of ocu­pa­tion­al-spe­cif­ic con­tent spe­cial­is­ing as a Cre­ative Media Tech­ni­cian. Suc­cess­ful com­ple­tion of this course accrues UCAS points and a num­ber of major UK uni­ver­si­ties accept T Lev­els.   • Project, method­ol­o­gy and administration
  • Con­tin­ued pro­fes­sion­al development.
