Entry Requirements
5 GCSEs at grades 4/C or above including English Language, Maths. Or a grade A in a relevant Level 2 qualification, including grades 4/C or above in GCSE English, Maths.
You will also need a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Certificate with no grounds that you are professionally unsuitable to undertake professional practice or placement. The College manages applications for a DBS, and we will contact you with the forms and guidance you require to complete this before you are due to start your course

Successful completion of this course accrues UCAS points and a number of major UK universities accept T Levels. Please see points achieved by grades below.
- T Level Distinction* = 168 UCAS Tariff Points = A*A*A* at A Level
- T Level Distinction = 144 UCAS Tariff Points = AAA at A Level
- T Level Merit = 120 UCAS Tariff Points = BBB at A Level
- T Level Pass (C or above) = 96 UCAS Tariff Points = CCC at A Level
- T Level Pass (D or E) = 72 UCAS Tariff Points = DDD at A Level
The 2‑year qualification brings classroom and work placement together, on a course designed with employers and businesses, giving you a licence to practice in Early Years on completion of the course.
Course Content
This is an exciting new course that has a mixture of technical knowledge and work placement to give you the skills and experience you need to work with children.
You will explore:
- Child development
- Childhood theories
- Learn how to support children’s development in early years and primary schools settings.
The industry placement requirement for this specialism is a minimum of 750 hours, where you will be assessed in real work situations giving you a licence to practice in Early Years on completion of the course.




I’m now heading to Leeds Beckett University to study Primary Teaching as I’ve gained real experiences through work placements and practical modules to help me find the right career path.
