Course overview

Devel­op inde­pen­dence, social and emo­tion­al skills whilst learn­ing about per­son­al pre­sen­ta­tion, good health, house­hold skills, inde­pen­dent liv­ing, mobil­i­ty, cit­i­zen­ship, mon­ey han­dling, bud­get­ing, employ­a­bil­i­ty, devel­op­ing friend­ships, plus leisure and enrich­ment activ­i­ties. This pro­gramme also includes ses­sions in Eng­lish and maths, enrich­ment, tuto­ri­als, inde­pen­dence and sup­port­ed study.

 

Entry Require­ments

No for­mal qual­i­fi­ca­tion are required.

Poten­tial Future Career

On com­ple­tion of this course, you can progress to the Explor­ing Ani­mals, Hor­ti­cul­ture and Life Skills or Explor­ing Cater­ing, Retail and Life Skills courses.

Course Con­tent

  • Work-based projects in cater­ing, hor­ti­cul­ture, ani­mal care and retail.
  • Fur­ther devel­op numer­a­cy and lit­er­a­cy skills through accred­it­ed Func­tion­al Skills or Step­ping Stones Awards.
  • Enrich­ment, tuto­ri­als, inde­pen­dence skills and sup­port­ed study.
  • Stu­dents will be assessed through­out the year and will build an evi­dence portfolio.
