Course overview

A triple threat course where you will refine your skills in singing, danc­ing and act­ing whilst advanc­ing your indi­vid­u­al­i­ty and per­for­mance tech­nique, run at the East­ern School of Per­form­ing Arts (ESPA). You will study and train in a vari­ety of areas includ­ing: singing tech­nique, rehearsal tech­nique, prin­ci­ples of act­ing, sto­ry­telling, devis­ing, bal­let, jazz, com­mer­cial dance and per­form­ing arts as a business.

All assess­ments are writ­ten and devel­oped to enable stu­dents to gain and devel­op prac­ti­cal skills whilst gain­ing a qual­i­fi­ca­tion. You will under­take an addi­tion­al LAM­DA qual­i­fi­ca­tion to sup­port your pro­gres­sion to sought after dra­ma schools and/​or uni­ver­si­ties and devel­op your per­for­mance skills. LAM­DA qual­i­fi­ca­tions are recog­nised by UCAS and con­tribute towards your points calculation.

 

Entry Require­ments

5 GCSEs at grades 4/C or above includ­ing Eng­lish and maths, and a suc­cess­ful audi­tion at one of our audi­tion days.

We will review each appli­ca­tion on a case-by-case basis to ensure you get a place on the course most suit­able for you. One of the ways we do this is through a very effec­tive 6 weeks to suc­cess’ pro­gramme that oper­ates from the first day you start your course. This includes sup­port such as (but not lim­it­ed to):

Allow­ing you to change cours­es if you change your mind in the first 6 weeks — sub­ject to course availability

Mov­ing you between course lev­els if you are find­ing your cur­rent lev­el too easy / too hard — sub­ject to course availability

One-to-one reviews with your aca­d­e­m­ic tutor to ensure you are pro­gress­ing and achiev­ing well

The course is run in col­lab­o­ra­tion with East­ern School of Per­form­ing Arts (ESPA). ESPA is based in the cen­tre of Stam­ford, with our own per­form­ing arts build­ing includ­ing 4 stu­dios, class­rooms, com­mon rooms and kitchen facil­i­ties. ESPA pro­vides indus­try expe­ri­enced tutors for all of their cours­es, enabling stu­dents to devel­op skills required for their next steps.

Poten­tial Future Career

Suc­cess­ful com­ple­tion of this course will allow you to progress to the HND in Per­form­ing Arts at The East­ern School of Per­form­ing Arts or study at pres­ti­gious per­form­ing arts schools. Pre­vi­ous stu­dents have gone on to study at estab­lish­ments such as: Mid­lands Acad­e­my of Dance and Dra­ma, Italia Con­ti, Liv­er­pool The­atre School, Liv­er­pool Insti­tute of Per­form­ing Arts and Stel­la Mann.
