Course overview
The qualification enables learners to gain knowledge and understanding of the positive effects of exercise on long-term health and well-being and implementing an exercise plan with the appropriate nutritional requirements.
Poor diet and lack of exercise are recognised as some of the major contributors to ill health. Regular exercise and a balanced diet help to reduce stress, improve sleep, reduce the risk of illness and increase life quality.
Therefore, having a good understanding of diets, the role of nutrition in exercise and personal motivation is an important part of maintaining well-being.
Entry Requirements
You need to be aged 19 or over at the start of the current academic year to be able to enrol on one of our Distance Learning courses. You will also need to be working at or above Level 1 in English.
We will assess your level of English before we enrol you onto the course and can signpost you to our Functional Skills English courses to upskill if necessary.

- Level 2 Certificate in preparing to Work in Adult Social Care

Course Content
To be awarded the Level 2 Certificate in Improving Personal Exercise, Health and Nutrition, learners are required to successfully complete 3 units:
- Unit 01 Understand health, wellbeing and exercise
- Unit 02 Understand the role of nutrition in exercise
- Unit 03 Plan and prepare for personal exercise and nutrition
