Course overview

This qual­i­fi­ca­tion is ide­al for those who need to devel­op an aware­ness of issues sur­round­ing equal­i­ty and diver­si­ty and is suit­able for those in employ­ment or seek­ing employ­ment. Britain is a cul­tur­al­ly diverse nation that respects and val­ues the dif­fer­ences in people. 

Com­pa­nies are legal­ly required to fol­low a set of prac­tices to ensure dis­crim­i­na­tion is erad­i­cat­ed and expec­ta­tions of equal­i­ty are met.

A good under­stand­ing of the wide-rang­ing leg­is­la­tion is essen­tial in cre­at­ing a work­place that is cen­tred on fair­ness, dig­ni­ty and respect. 

 

Entry Require­ments

You need to be aged 19 or over at the start of the cur­rent aca­d­e­m­ic year to be able to enrol on one of our Dis­tance Learn­ing cours­es. You will also need to be work­ing at or above Lev­el 1 in English. 

We will assess your lev­el of Eng­lish before we enrol you onto the course and can sign­post you to our Func­tion­al Skills Eng­lish cours­es to upskill if necessary.

  • Lev­el 2 Cer­tifi­cate in Safe­guard­ing and Prevent

Course Con­tent

To be award­ed the Lev­el 2 Cer­tifi­cate in Equal­i­ty and Diver­si­ty, learn­ers are required to suc­cess­ful­ly com­plete 3 units: 

  • Unit 01 Equal­i­ty and diver­si­ty in society 
  • Unit 02 Equal­i­ty and diver­si­ty in the community 
  • Unit 03 Equal­i­ty and diver­si­ty in the workplace
