Course overview

Fur­ther your expe­ri­ence and insight into the health and social care sec­tor by acquir­ing a range of skills and per­son­al attrib­ut­es. You will study com­mu­ni­ca­tion, safe­guard­ing, work­ing in health and social care, human growth and devel­op­ment, nutri­tion, equal­i­ty and diver­si­ty and anato­my and phys­i­ol­o­gy, whilst also gain­ing real-life expe­ri­ences via work place­ments to sup­port your studies.

 

Entry Require­ments

4 GCSEs at grades 3/D or above includ­ing Eng­lish and maths

You will require a DBS (Dis­clo­sure and Bar­ring Ser­vice) Cer­tifi­cate with no grounds you are pro­fes­sion­al­ly unsuit­able to under­take pro­fes­sion­al prac­tice or place­ment. We will con­tact you with more details on how to apply for this once you have been offered a place on your course.

We will review each appli­ca­tion on a case-by-case basis to ensure you get a place on the course most suit­able for you.

One of the ways we do this is through a very effec­tive 6 weeks to suc­cess pro­gramme’ that oper­ates from the first day you start your course. This includes sup­port such as (but not lim­it­ed to):

· Allow­ing you to change cours­es if you change your mind in the first 6 weeks ‑sub­ject to availability

· Mov­ing you between course lev­els if you are find­ing your cur­rent lev­el too easy / too hard, sub­ject to availability

· One-to-one reviews with your aca­d­e­m­ic tutor to ensure you are pro­gress­ing and achiev­ing well

Poten­tial Future Career

After suc­cess­ful com­ple­tion of this course you can progress to Health and Social Care Extend­ed Diplo­ma Lev­el 3 or a Health and Social Care Appren­tice­ship should you also have Eng­lish and maths at GCSE grad 4/C or above.
