Course overview
Take your next steps to becoming a professional hairdresser and gain a high standard of practical skills including cutting, colouring, client consultation and blow drying. You will have the opportunity to work alongside prestigious local salon owners and hairdressing professionals to develop advanced and modern techniques.
What Does The Programme Include
You will learn through practical demonstrations and practice what you have learnt on real, paying clients in our commercial salon.
Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs at grades 3/D or above including English and maths, or a relevant Level 1 qualification and GCSE English and maths at 3 or above.
We will review each application on a case-by-case basis to ensure you get a place on the course most suitable for you.
One of the ways we do this is through a very effective 6 weeks to success programme’ that operates from the first day you start your course. This includes support such as (but not limited to):<?xml:namespace prefix = “o” ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office” />
· Allowing you to change courses if you change your mind in the first 6 weeks ‑subject to availability
· Moving you between course levels if you are finding your current level too easy / too hard, subject to availability
· One-to-one reviews with your academic tutor to ensure you are progressing and achieving well

How The Course Will Be Assessed
You will be assessed through practical observations, online tests and oral questions. You will also complete assignments to develop your theory knowledge.
Additional Information
You will be required to purchase a kit and uniform. Full details on how we can support you with the purchase of kit and uniform can be found on our Student Support web pages.
You will also be required to source clients for practical learning throughout the academic year .
Potential Future Career
On successful completion of this course, you will be able to progress to the Hairdressing Diploma Level 3 or Lead, or Senior Hair Stylist Apprenticeship, or employment.
