Course overview

In an increas­ing­ly dig­i­tal world, cyber secu­ri­ty is fast becom­ing a main con­cern for many organ­i­sa­tions. With com­plex online scams and cyber crime, it’s essen­tial that organ­i­sa­tions have an under­stand­ing of pre­ven­ta­tive mea­sures to main­tain cyber secu­ri­ty, includ­ing tech­niques and secu­ri­ty checks need­ed to store data secure­ly. This online course is a key start­ing point for any­one look­ing to begin their career in cyber security.

The tar­get learn­er for this qual­i­fi­ca­tion will be an indi­vid­ual look­ing to gain a greater under­stand­ing or build upon their exist­ing knowl­edge of Cyber Secu­ri­ty issues. This will like­ly be with a view to study­ing the sub­ject at a high­er lev­el and/​or seek­ing employ­ment in a Cyber Secu­ri­ty relat­ed role.
This qual­i­fi­ca­tion is suit­able for learn­ers aged 19 and above.

 

Entry Require­ments

You must be 19 or over to be able to apply for this course.

Addi­tion­al Information

Entry is at the dis­cre­tion of the Cen­tre. How­ev­er, learn­ers should be aged at least 16 to under­take the qualification.

There are no spe­cif­ic rec­om­mend­ed pri­or learn­ing require­ments for this qual­i­fi­ca­tion. How­ev­er, learn­ers may find it help­ful if they’ve already achieved a Lev­el 1 qualification.

Course Con­tent

The pur­pose of the Lev­el 2 Cer­tifi­cate in Cyber Secu­ri­ty is to pro­vide learn­ers with sec­tor aware­ness. It will do this by intro­duc­ing the knowl­edge and under­stand­ing in roles and issues relat­ing to Cyber Secu­ri­ty. The sec­ondary pur­pose is to act as a step­ping stone that will lead learn­ers into study­ing Cyber Secu­ri­ty at a high­er level.
