Course overview

This course deliv­ers Stage 2 of the BACP Coun­selling Chil­dren and Young Peo­ple Train­ing curriculum.

The course runs on 3 con­sec­u­tive Mondays:

  • Day 1 — Mon­day 26th June — 10am to 4pm
  • Day 2 — Mon­day 10th July — 10am to 4pm
  • Day 3 — Mon­day 17th July — 10am to 4pm

The course fee is £120 and pay­ment can be made at time of application.

 

What Does The Pro­gramme Include

The course will include in class tuition, group work and pre­sen­ta­tions. The course, amongst oth­er things will cov­er rea­sons for chil­dren to come to coun­selling, how coun­selling chil­dren may dif­fer from coun­selling adults and the legal and eth­i­cal con­sid­er­a­tions. It will involve human devel­op­ment the­o­ry and how that may apply to young peo­ple and look at young peo­ple’s emo­tions. The course will spend time dis­cussing coun­selling prac­tice, con­tract­ing and supervision.

Entry Require­ments

This course is designed for Coun­sel­lors who are cur­rent­ly work­ing with or plan to work with chil­dren and young people.

You will require a Lev­el 4 – 5 Coun­selling qual­i­fi­ca­tion (or cur­rent­ly study­ing towards the Lev­el 4 – 5) to com­plete this course.

How The Course Will Be Assessed

Upon suc­cess­ful com­ple­tion of this course you will receive a cer­tifi­cate of completion.
