Beauty Therapy Level 1

No pre­vi­ous qual­i­fi­ca­tions are required, how­ev­er we do expect you to have good com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills and a pas­sion for the indus­try. You must also have a pro­fes­sion­al appear­ance and atti­tude to learning.

On suc­cess­ful com­ple­tion of this course at Mer­it and the achieve­ment of Func­tion­al Skills Eng­lish and maths, you can progress on to Lev­el 2 Beau­ty Ther­a­py, Lev­el 1 or 2 Hair­dress­ing or Lev­el 2 Media Make-up.

This qual­i­fi­ca­tion may also allow pro­gres­sion onto nails, make – up, retail and hair­dress­ing qualifications.

Dur­ing this one year course you will study a range of sub­jects including:

• Basic man­i­cure and pedicure
• Salon recep­tion skills
• Skin­care
• Pho­to­graph­ic make-up
• Face paint­ing
• Basic make-up application.

Along with intro­duc­tion to hair & beau­ty sec­tor you will also study: 

• Work­ing with others
• Health & safety 
• Anato­my & physiology

This will be a com­bi­na­tion of prac­ti­cal skills and tech­niques whilst devel­op­ing the under­pin­ning knowl­edge of the subject.
