
Martin Ballard is the Group Environment Manager with Willmott Dixon, where his role is to ensure sustainable practices and targets set for business performance are being consistently embedded and delivered. He leads the environmental discipline on legal assurance, business audits for environmental protection and promotion of environmental efficiency improvements, managing Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) environmental courses and improvements for the group’s Considerate Construction recognition. Martin has held investment programming, operational and supply chain roles with Anglian Water over fifteen years, including audit and delivery of environmental improvements across East Anglia. Previously, he worked in environmental regulation across the South West of England.
Martin’s experience in the construction sector delivering strategic stakeholder and supply chain engagement includes outcomes such as: biodiversity recognition with the BIG Challenge, water management planning; environmental behavioural practices; and construction lean engineering for waste reduction and sustainable resource efficiency.
Beyond work, Martin enjoys time with family and friends, singing with Stamford Choral (new members always welcomed!), coaching rugby with Stamford Rugby club where his son plays and even enjoys refereeing (for fun-filled flowing games of rugby…).
