Towards Vocational Studies

Most students progress from Vocational Studies to a mainstream course in their chosen vocational area. There are potential opportunities to progress to a Supported Internship (only available for students with an EHCP).

This course serves as an introductory pathway for students who may need additional support to build skills and confidence to make the transition to further learning in the main college environment.

It allows students to attend taster sessions in different vocational subjects, allowing them to discover their interests and gain practical experience in the vocational area they want to progress onto. This allows for a smoother transition into their next field of study, which helps students understand their various course options and ensures they make informed decisions about their future academic paths.

The curriculum emphasises developing essential skills for college success. This includes demonstrating a "willingness to achieve," improving English and maths abilities and building confidence. These elements are crucial for a smooth transition into a mainstream college course and successful future vocational pursuits.
